The White House has released an outline displaying the potential consequences the U.S. could face if the government undergoes a shutdown.

The outline listed that FEMA’s disaster relief fund would be at risk of depletion without a funding bill which would make emergency response efforts complicated. A government shutdown would also stall research on cancer and delay food inspections conducted by the FDA.

The EPA’s reviews could also be delayed which would affect ongoing infrastructure projects. TSA officers and air traffic controllers would have to work without pay which could result in major travel delays. A shutdown would also limit the ability of the Small Business Administration to conduct its work.

The White House claims House Republicans are putting the Nation at risk of a shutdown and the House has less than two weeks to extend funding.
