ESPN Anchor Brian Custer Brings Awareness to Prostate Cancer
The American Cancer Society hopes their newest sports ambassador , ESPN anchor Brain Custer, will encourage men to get screened for prostate cancer.
September is a good time to make an appointment with your doctor. It’s Prostrate Awareness Month. The American Cancer Society hopes their newest sports ambassador , ESPN anchor Brain Custer, will encourage others to get tested. Custer was diagnosed with an aggressive form of the disease at age 42. Without early detection his outcome would have been different. Early detection is vital. Ask your doctor about getting screened. Information is vital in prevention and treatment. Support groups can really be beneficial. The Grand Strand Prostrate Cancer Support group meets every second Thursday and are resuming tonight at 6 p.m. They meet at Health Finders in the Coastal Grand Mall (beside Dillard’s). Tonight’s speaker is Dr. Lauren Cooley, an Urological Oncologist with Atlantic Urology.
