When it comes to being a party guest, we typically think about what to bring, what to wear or what time to show up but what about making your exits?  Is it rude to leave without saying goodbye?  Heading out without giving notice, otherwise known as “ghosting” or “an Irish exit,” is indeed frowned upon by southerners, according to a Southern Living writer.  In most cases, it’s best to take the time to thank your hosts, even if you risk getting roped into another conversation.   But there are some cases where it’s not that big of a deal such as at weddings when you’ve already congratulated the couple and stayed past the cake cutting.
