Former Proud Boys Leader Sentenced To 22 Years In Prison
This is the longest sentence so far in the many cases and charges brought about after Americans stormed the Capitol over the 2020 election results.
The former leader of the Proud Boys group has been sentenced for his role in the attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6th of 2021.
Enrique Tarrio was not in Washington during the time of the riot, however he is accused of helping organize the far-right group’s involvement by encouraging them as he monitored their movements.
Tarrio was convicted in may of seditious conspiracy, plans to overthrow the government, and several other charges. He has been in jail since his arrest last year and has now been sentenced to 22 years in prison.
