What’s Better…Fresh or Frozen Fruits and Veggies?
...are we cutting ourselves short by eating frozen over fresh?
Let’s talk those frozen berries and brocolli…are we cutting ourselves short by eating frozen over fresh? Nope! According to the a study published in the Journal of Agriculture and Food Chemistry…frozen is just as good and often more nutritious than their fresh counterparts. Within hours of being harvested, ripe fruits and veggies are quickly “flash-frozen” to essentially “lock in” their nutritional value. That’s done with a slight mist of water and cold air. It keeps its “cool” and nutritional value while hanging out in the freezer…while the other is left to sit on delivery trucks and eventually your counter-top and you know how that sometimes ends.
