Events on The Grand Strand This Weekend

If you're looking to get out and about in and around the Grand Strand this weekend, here are some thing going on.

Keep Myrtle Beach Beautiful seeks volunteers for a Back-to-School roadside cleanup.  Volunteers are asked to park near the Doug Shaw stadium and check-in at the booth on 32nd Ave. north and Oak St. (near the Pepper Geddings Recreation Center).   Trash bags, gloves, vests and easy-reach grabbers will be provided and school supply donations such as pencils and notebooks will be collected.  The cleanup event is taking place from 8 to 11 a.m..

The City of Loris is hosting Market in the Yard on Main Street.  That’s on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.   There will be plenty of vendors, fresh flowers as well as vegetables and fruits form local farmers.

You can also beat the heat at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center for Jurassic Quest!   Take the kids to see life-size dinosaurs, one-of-a-kind walking dinosaur rides, a T Rex skull, fossils and more. Its going on today, tomorrow and Sunday and is called the largest and most realistic dinosaur exhibit on tour.

Finally, Wellness Day is back at local Walmarts at locations across the country.   Tomorrow customers can get free screenings and affordable immunizations from 10 – 2 p.m.  Customers can receive free glucose, cholesterol, BMI and blood pressure screenings.  Plus, immunizations for Flu, HPV, Tetanus, Hepatitis and more will be available at Walmart pharmacies.  More than 4,600 pharmacies will be participating.
