Deadline Looms For Facebook Users To File Claim In Class Action Lawsuit
If you were a user of Facebook in the U.S. for any period between May 24th of 2007 and December 22nd of 2022, you are eligible to file a claim.
The deadline is looming for any U.S. resident who had a Facebook account in the past 16 years to file for payment in a data privacy settlement case.
Back in December, Facebook’s parent, Meta, agreed to pay $725 million to settle a series of privacy-related class action lawsuits alleging that the social media platform allowed third parties to access its users’ private data without their permission. That includes nearly 70 million U.S. based users’ private Facebook information that ranged from birthdays, hometowns, personal messages, and more.
If you were a user of Facebook in the U.S. for any period between May 24th of 2007 and December 22nd of 2022, you are eligible to file a claim.
You must submit your claim by August 25th to be included in the payout.
