Wildfires continue to burn across Hawaii’s Big Island and Maui.
At least 36 deaths have been recorded so far. 11 thousand people have been evacuated from Maui alone with many more expected to leave. Hospitals have been overwhelmed with burn victims and people suffering from smoke inhalation.
The Department of Transportation has been working with local airlines to evacuate all tourists from the affected areas. At least 10 schools on the island have closed following the continue spread of brush fires and over 12,000 customers are without power.
President Biden has ordered all available federal assets in Hawaii to help battle the wildfires.
