Two Arrests Made In A Murder Investigation Case
Both were charged with first degree murder, two counts of attempted first degree murder, discharging a weapon into a vehicle, discharging a weapon into an occupied dwelling, and felony conspiracy.
Two arrests have been made in an ongoing murder investigation.
22-year-old Gavin Jacobs was detained on Friday and 26-year-old Cherokee Norton surrendered to law enforcement on Monday. Both were charged with first degree murder, two counts of attempted first degree murder, discharging a weapon into a vehicle, discharging a weapon into an occupied dwelling, and felony conspiracy.
The incident occurred on July 26th when deputies were called to Freebird Lane in Maxton on reports of a weapon violation, and another call reported an individual had been shot. Kylon Locklear was transported to a hospital where he later died.
20-year-old Taima Cummings, and 21-year-old Kinston Locklear are also both wanted on charges linked to the murder.
