One Dead And Three Others Injured In New York City Shooting Spree
A motive for the shooting rampage remains under investigation but the incident appears to be a random act of violence.
One person was killed and three others left injured by a gunman firing a semi-automatic pistol from a scooter in an apparent random shooting spree in New York City.
The shootings occurred in the Brooklyn and Queens area in a 30 minute span on Saturday morning.
A video captured the moment when the suspect approached a 21 year old man from behind on the scooter, raised his hand and fired. The victim was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
17 minutes later, an 86-year-old was shot in the back and died at a hospital. Soon after, a 44-year-old and a 63-year-old man were both shot and another victim was shot at but missed.
25-year-old Thomas Abreu was arrested and has been charged with one count of murder, two counts of attempted murder, and six counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
