Powdery Substance Found In The White House Confirmed To Be Cocaine
Authorities are now leading a full review of how the substance got in, which includes reviewing camera footage and entrance logs to determine who had access to the space.
Earlier this week, a powdery substance was discovered in the White House by the Secret Service.
The findings led to a brief shutdown as authorities worked to investigate the situation. The substance tested positive to be cocaine.
The drug was found in a common storage area on the ground floor of the West Wing, which houses the Oval Office and offices of some of the president’s top aides and support staff. It was in a zip-lock bag near an entrance where visitors taking tours are directed to leave their phones.
The area is ‘heavily traveled’ and one leading theory is the bag was brought in by an individual on a white house tour of the west wing. However, the Secret Service has not ruled out any White House personnel, guests or visitors at this time.
