18-Year-Old Died After Being Shot Outside Of A Lumberton Mall

The identity of the person who was shot and killed outside of a Lumberton mall, has been revealed.

18-year-old Doriane McRae was shot while leaving the Biggs Park Mall with another person when individuals who were waiting in the parking lot began shooting.

Around 6:30p.m., officers arrived to the scene and found McRae with a gunshot wound. He was transported to a hospital where he later died.

On Tuesday it was reported that two suspects were detained in connection to the case after a chase led to their arrests.

However, it has been discovered that the two individuals have no connection to the shooting incident, but the 17-year-old driver has been charged with offenses related to the chase and was taken to a juvenile detention center.

The passenger of the fleeing vehicle and was released with no charges.

An investigation is still on-going into the fatal shooting.
