Americans Retiring Earlier

Americans are retiring earlier than they expected and don’t miss the workplace.  A recent survey of 2,000 retired Americans found that they’d initially expected to retire at 63.2 years old, on average, but instead did so at 61.5 years old, beating the median point by almost two years.  That poll also found that the majority of those (80%) retiring ahead of schedule did so at a time when they were happy in their career.   A quarter of early retirees say they miss the workplace. and most of those have either returned or in the process of going back…the main reason for that was too much time on their hands.
