Concert Ticket Vendors Ditch ‘Junk Fees’

The companies moves comes after President Biden criticized their 'junk fees' and threatened to take action.

The White House has pushed ticket vendor sites to ditch what officials call ‘junk fees’.

Concert giant Live Nation and mobile-ticket seller, SeatGeek, will no longer hide fees from the total ticket cost.

The move comes after Live Nation entertainment, the parent company of Ticketmaster, faced backlash from the White House and Congress in January over ticket sales for Taylor Swift’s tour.

The pop star’s tour ticket total costs included an abundance of hidden fees and platform outages, preventing many fans from purchasing tickets.

The Biden administration has been cracking down on and proposing new rules targeting credit-card late fees, airline and concert ticket sales that aim to get rid of unexplained charges.
