Ten students from Lake City Early High School were selected to visit NASA-Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas.
The students left Sunday and are set to return on Wednesday.
They are currently experiencing the chance to explore the lifestyle of space exploration.
All selected students are from the Sisters in STEM program and the trip was planned to pay homage to their hometown hero, Dr. Ronald McNair, who made significant contributions to space exploration.
The trip was made possible by the Lake City High School class of ’82, friends and McNair’s family members, and many other organizations that support the experience.
