New Ford, Tesla Charging Deal for Electric Vehicles

Elon Musk says he wants his company's network of about 12-thousand charging stations to support other sustainable transportation.

Owners of Ford electric vehicles will now have more options when it comes to finding a place to charge. The company announced all current and future electric vehicles will have access to Tesla supercharger stations starting next spring. Tesla CEO Elon Musk says he wants his company’s network of about 12-thousand charging stations to support other sustainable transportation. Ford says EV owners will likely have to pay to access Tesla charging stations. The automaker says it could set up a subscription fee but it did not release more details. Ford’s current EVs will need an adapter to plug into Tesla-specific chargers but, the company says its second-generation EVs, starting in 2025, will come with Tesla’s charging plug.
