Lumberton Police Investigate Deadly Shooting

Reports of a shooting incident led to the discovery of a deceased man.

Lumberton police officers have also opened an investigation into a separate shooting incident that occurred Sunday morning.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting on Washington Street.

Upon arrival, they discovered a deceased male with gunshot wounds, lying in the roadway.

The man has been identified as 43-year-old Benny Smith Jr..
