Murdered University of Idaho Receive Posthumous Degrees
Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle, Madison Mogen, and Ethan Chapin, were remebered on graduation day.
The four University of Idaho students who were fatally stabbed in their off-campus home were remembered Saturday on graduation day, exactly six months after they were murdered. Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle, Madison Mogen, and Ethan Chapin, were awarded posthumous degrees. Mogen’s parents accepted her bachelor’s in marketing and Goncalves’ family accepted her bachlor’s of general studies. In a private ceremony today, Kernodle’s family will accept her certificate in marketing and Chapin’s family will accept his certificate in recreation, sports and tourism, and management in the coming weeks. The four were found dead November 13th and 28-year-old Bryan Kohberger has been accused of committing the murders. He was arrested seven weeks after they were discovered deceased after a lengthy investigation. Kohberger will appear at an evidence hearing on June 26th and he is currently detained.
