You may have noticed brussels sprouts popping up at restaurants about everywhere. served as appealing appetizers. Even Greg is eating them now!  You’d think someone altered the taste of them.  You’d be right!  Today’s brussels sprouts are not the same ones served at your mom’s dinner table.  Turns out scientists in the Netherlands tinkered with them in the 90s, making the sprouts less bitter.  NPR reports that a Dutch scientist figured out exactly which chemical compounds in brussels sprouts made them bitter and found a way to eventually cross-pollinate the chemicals out.
