Executive Order Restricts Golf Carts And Mopeds During Memorial Day Weekend

A new executive order has been signed ahead of Memorial Day weekend by Myrtle Beach City Manager, Jonathan Simons.

The order seeks to assist public safety and traffic management for the holiday weekend events.

Starting at 12:01a.m. on the 26th, golf carts and mopeds will be prohibited on Ocean Boulevard from 29th Avenue North to the South end of the city limits.

The mopeds will be banned from 8p.m. to 8a.m. each day of the weekend.

Both bans will be enforced until traffic control has been removed from Ocean Boulevard on the 29th.

The new order excludes vehicles used by law enforcement.
