S.C. Senate Passed Law To Ban The ‘Carolina Squat’
The law would go into effect 180 days after being signed by Governor McMaster. During that time until the law is enforced, only warnings will be given.
The South Carolina Senate passed a bill to ban the Carolina Squat.
The legislation would make vehicle modification’s in which the front fenders lifted higher than four or more inches above the rear fender, illegal.
Those in violation would be fined $100 for a first offense. A second offense would result in a $200 fine. Three or more offenses would call for a fine of $300 and a 12-month driver’s license suspension.
The Senate passed the legislation with a vote of 37-1 and it passed unanimously in the S.C. House with a vote of 102-0.
