Suspect Responsible For Five Deaths In Texas Now Detained
Law enforcement was able to locate him and found him under a pile of laundry in a closet of a home several miles from the shooting site.
The suspect allegedly responsible for a shooting in Texas that killed five people, has been detained.
On Friday night, 38-year-old, Francisco Oropesa, was reportedly shooting a rifle in his yard when neighbors requested for him to stop due to a baby trying to sleep.
Oropesa allegedly then opened fire on the neighbors. A doorbell camera at the home of the victims captured the suspect approaching with his rifle. The victims, including a 9-year-old, were shot above the neck at close range.
Oropesa was arrested on Tuesday after being at large for several days. Law enforcement was able to locate him and found him under a pile of laundry in a closet of a home several miles from the shooting site.
The suspect is being detained on five counts of murder with bond set at $5 million.
In addition to the accused gunman, been another arrest was made. Oropesa’s partner, Divimara Nava, faces a charge of hindering apprehension or prosecution of a known felon, which is a third-degree felony.
Details remain limited at this time as an investigation is still on-going.
