Myrtle Beach Council Might Enforce Year-Round Paid Parking
The council passed the first reading of a budget ordinance earlier this week.
The Myrtle Beach city council is moving toward enforcing paid parking year-round. The council passed the first reading of a budget ordinance earlier this week that included year-round parking. The proposed budget for the year 2023-24 is nearly $360 million. It includes no property tax increases, a storm-water fee increase, and extended paid parking enforcement. Currently, Myrtle Beach’s paid parking meter season runs from March until October, from 9 a.m. to midnight every day. If the ordinance gets final approval, those who park in city limits would have to pay to park during the off-season as well. The second reading is set to be heard at the next council meeting.
