Bird Strikes And Sparks Flames On An Airborne Flight

It is unclear how many passengers and crew members were aboard the aircraft but no injuries were sustained during the incident.

On Sunday, a plane caught fire shortly after it took off from an Ahio airport.

American Airlines flight 1958 departed from John Glenn Columbus International Airport around 7:45a.m.. It was starting its route to Phoenix when a fire was detected.

The flight returned to the airport where the flames were quickly put out. It was determined that a bird strike sparked an engine fire.

It is unclear how many passengers and crew members were aboard the aircraft but no injuries were sustained during the incident.

The plane was taken out of service for maintenance and passengers had to be put onto other flights.

The FAA is currently investigating the situation.
