A proposal to build a temporary housing complex for J1 visa students, is set to be discussed amongst Myrtle Beach city leaders next week.

The developer is proposing to rezone 7.5 acres of vacant land at the corner of Mr. Joe White Avenue and Robert Grissom Parkway in Myrtle Beach.

The rezoning proposed to build five buildings and a recreational area. It also proposes a bus shelter on Nance Street and a turn lane from Joe White.

The proposal states that the city relies on international students to sustain the seasonal work-force and the groups need proper housing during their stay.

The first reading is set to take place on April 25th after the city council meeting is held at the council chamber on Oak Street.
