Two Surviving Americans Speak Out About Mexican Cartel Kidnapping

It was shared that one of the kidnappers apologized explaining someone had made a wrong call due to substance abuse.

The two American survivors of the fatal Mexican cartel kidnapping have revealed new details of the incident after speaking out for the first time.

The abduction occurred last month in the Mexico border city of Matamoros. Four Americans traveled to the country for one of them to have cosmetic surgery performed.

The victims were shot at and kidnapped by gunmen in an ambush. LaTavia McGee and Eric Williams said they are still attempting to move on from the attack that left their friends Zindell Brown and Shaeed Woodard, along with a Mexican bystander, dead.

The two say their captors put guns to their head and tried to force them to perform sexual activities.

They said the kidnappers wore red plastic ‘Diablo masks’ and blindfolded them at times.

McGee shared that during the days long ordeal, one of the kidnappers apologized explaining someone had made a wrong call due to substance abuse.

Investigators believe the drug cartel mistakenly took the Americans for Haitian drug smugglers.
