The request comes during a time that Chat-bots are popular and the AI race is growing faster than the government is comfortable with.
On Tuesday, China released a draft of measures to manage generative AI services to ensure safety, accuracy, and privacy. Their draft contained warnings that AI technology must reflect core values of socialism and cannot have the power to overthrow the socialist system in China.
The launch of the public consultation marks the first step for the Biden administration attempting to put AI accountability measures in place for the U.S..
Public comments will be accepted over the next 60 days and used to assist in creating ideas for policy-makers on how to approach AI development.
