Truck Overturned Carrying Pounds Of Contaminated Soil In East Palestine

The contents were able to be contained and did not pose a threat to nearby waterways.

A truck transporting contaminated soil from the East Palestine derailment overturned on Monday.

The tractor-trailer was traveling on State Route 165 in Ohio when it swerved off the roadway and overturned.

Nearly 20 thousand pounds of soil spilled onto the roadway and berm.

The contents were able to be contained and did not pose a threat to nearby waterways.

The driver sustained minor injuries.

In total, 11.3 gallons of liquid wastewater and nearly 20 thousand tons of soil have already been hauled out of East Palestine in cleanup efforts from the toxic train derailment earlier this year.
