Biden Issues His Second Veto During Presidency

The president vetoed a resolution that would have rescinded his administration's hallmark water rule.

President Biden has issued his second veto during his presidency.

The president vetoed a resolution that would have rescinded his administration’s hallmark water rule.

Opponents argued that Biden’s water rule constituted overreach by the executive branch and say that it creates off limit burdens that would lead to confusion within industries.

Lawmakers joined to overturn Biden’s new water rules and it passed with a vote of 54 to 43.

The president said the vetoed bill attempted to block his administration from protecting the Nation’s waterways from destruction and pollution. He said, “Let me be clear: Every American has a right to clean water. This veto protects that right.”
