We’re helping with the most annoying part of shopping online, the shipping and unexpected fees. It’s no fun to have to cancel your order to avoid the fees.

Simply avoid them for any purchase with these tips. Opt for in-store or curbside pickup. Many retailers like Target, Best Buy, Walmart and others allow you to shop online then pick up curbside at no additional cost.

Check subscriptions for free delivery. Amazon Prime and Walmart Plus not only have the free shipping but, also include free delivery for members…and the best part is there’s no minimum order amount to qualify. These have a monthly recurring cost, but eliminating the order minimums and the increased shipping speeds and other benefits easily make up if you shop often.

Check your credit card perks. Some credit cards offer free shipping through partners like “shop-runner.” According to the company’s site, you can get a free membership from select American Express, Chase and Mastercard accounts, and certain
Paypal members may be eligible as well. Shoprunner offers a free three-month trial of its service and there’s other services like “Shipt,” which works with Costco, CVS, Petco, Sephora, Target and other retailers. Shipt and similar services offer a $0 delivery fee on your first order.

Look for filler items. If you’re not Prime and Plus members or subscribe to a service like Shoprunner…a lot of retailers have preset order limits for free shipping. Otherwise, there’s a delivery fee or $6 or more. But, sometimes adding a pack of gum to your order puts you over the minimum order. You might not need it but it’s better than paying the full shipping.
