UConn Wins NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship
UConn became the sixth team to win five NCAA Men's Basketball Championships.
Monday night, the University of Connecticut earned the programs fifth men’s basketball national title.
UConn defeated San Diego State with a final score of 76-59. Head Coach Dan Hurley said the team had confidence during the season and going into the tournament, though they weren’t ranked at the beginning of the year.
With just 11 minutes and eight seconds left in the first half the Huskies went from being down 10-6 to up 36-24 by half time.
With five minutes and 19 seconds left in the final half the score was 60-55 until the Huskies scored the next nine to take a comfortable lead into the final two minutes…
And with that, UConn became the sixth team to win five NCAA Men’s Basketball Championships.
