Crossing Guard Injured After Being Struck By A Vehicle

A car failed to stop for the crossing guard on Martin Luther King Drive in front of W.H. Knuckles Elementary School in Robeson County.

On Thursday, a crossing guard was struck by a vehicle.

A car failed to stop for the crossing guard on Martin Luther King Drive in front of W.H. Knuckles Elementary School in Robeson County.

The crossing guard was transported by medivac to a hospital for treatment and is currently in the critical care unit but is expected to recover.

The car originally fled the scene after the incident but later returned. 28-year-old, Oneisha Blackmon is charged with felony hit and run, operating a vehicle with no operator’s license, speeding in a school zone, reckless driving, and failure to reduce speed to avoid accident.

There were no reports of any children being injured during the incident.
