Tech Leaders Send Letter In Regards To Pause AI Race

They're hoping for a pause of at least six months due to 'profound risks to society and humanity.'

Some of the biggest names in tech are calling for Artificial Intelligence labs to put a pause on the AI race.

Among the tech leaders were Elon Musk, professors and researchers who signed the letter that was published by the future of life institute.

The letter comes just two weeks after Open-AI announced GPT4 which is an even more powerful version of the technology that underpins the viral tool, ChatGPT.

The leaders say the pause should apply to AI systems ‘more powerful than GPT4’.

They stated that independent experts should use the proposed pause to jointly develop and implement a set of shared protocols for AI tools that are safe.

They’re hoping for a pause of at least six months due to ‘profound risks to society and humanity.’
