Men’s NCAA Tournament Final Four Has Three First Timer Teams

This year's men's NCAA Tournament is the first time since seeding began in 1979 that no team ranked higher than number four, has reached the final four.

Three schools will make their first final four appearances at the men’s NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1970.

In an eventful game, San Diego State University gained the program’s first appearance with a close win of 57-56 against the Creighton Bluejays. SDSU will play against Florida Atlantic, on Saturday in a battle of two first-time final four contestants.

Miami also earned their first final four spot with a 88 to 81 victory over the Texas Longhorns. The Hurricanes are now set to play against the UConn Huskies, on Saturday as well.
