Two Arrested In Connection To Skeletal Remains Discovered In Georgetown

On February 18th, the skeletal remains of two victims were discovered in a shallow grave by hunters in a wooded area off Whitmire Road in the Choppee Community.

Two people have been arrested in connection to a double homicide in Georgetown County.

On February 18th, the skeletal remains of 57-year-old, Melvin Wise, and 41-year-old, Andrene Stewart, were discovered in a shallow grave by hunters in a wooded area off Whitmire Road in the Choppee Community.

Both of the victims deaths were ruled as homicide.

On Thursday, 52-year-old, Patricia Wise, and 55-year-old, Wilbur Lang, were both taken into custody in connection to the investigation.

Wise and Lang were both charged with accessory to murder after the fact, obstruction of justice, and criminal conspiracy. In addition, Lang is also being charged with two counts of desecration of human remains.

Both suspects are being held at the Georgetown County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
