Two Suspects Arrested In Connection To Murder In Robeson County

Both suspects are being held without bond at the Robeson County Detention Center.

Two people have been arrested in connection to a murder investigation after a deadly shooting occurred in Lumberton earlier this month.

On March 10th, Robeson County deputies responded to UNC Southeastern Medical Center for a person who was brought in by a neighbor suffering gunshot wounds.

46-year-old, Christopher Chavis later died from his injuries. The shooting happened at Chavis’s home in the area of Doe Trail Road.

43-year-old, William Mayers, and 33-year-old, Anna Morales have both been arrested and charged with first-degree murder, felony conspiracy, and altering, stealing, and destroying evidence.

Both suspects are being held without bond at the Robeson County Detention Center.

The investigation is still on-going.
