One of Horry County’s busiest bridges has been deemed safe for travel despite a concerning crack.

The Highway 501 bypass bridge over Highway 701 in Conway appears to have a crack in a beam.

Inspections occur at least every two years, with the most recent taking place in August of last year.

The South Carolina Secretary of Transportation says the bridge is safe and structurally sound.
