Carolina Forest High School students, Joseph Schindler, Blakeley Ellis, Nevaeh Miller, Chris Carbone stopped by the studio to talk about their upcoming spring musical, ’42nd Street’.

The upcoming performance follows the story of small-town girl, Peggy Sawyer, in her quest for stardom. When revered Broadway director Julian Marsh falls on hard times, he helms an ambitious musical, Pretty Lady, to bring back his work to the stage. His leading actress, Dorothy Brock, is torn between two loves – the show’s wealthy backer, Abner Dillon, and the earnest but penniless actor Pat Denning, putting Julian’s show in financial jeopardy. When further tragedy strikes, young Peggy Sawyer is pulled out of the wings in an attempt to save the show. This high-energy dance musical is directed by Meredith T. Taylor, with music direction by Kraig McBroom (honorary) & Sean O’Malley, choreography by Alison Levenberg, costume design by Rhonda Singleton, Will Brown, assistant direction by Becky Bannon, lighting design by Dennis Grizer, and set design by Gregg Buck.
