Footage Released Revealed Russian Fighter Jet Downing U.S. Drone
In the video you can see the Russian fighter jet approaching the U.S. drone and dumping fuel on it before it strikes the drone's propeller which is when the colorful lines appear.
The U.S. European Command released video footage of the encounter that marked the first time the U.S. and Russia came in direct contact since the Ukraine invasion began.
On Tuesday, a Russian fighter jet downed an unmanned U.S. drone over the Black Sea. In the video you can see the Russian fighter jet approaching the U.S. drone and dumping fuel on it before it strikes the drone’s propeller which is when the colorful lines appear.
The interaction allegedly lasted 30 to 40 minutes as the Russian aircraft taunted the U.S. drone before taking it down.
A senior Biden Administration official said the footage provides proof that there was a physical collision and dumping of fuel, but it does not confirm the pilot’s intentions.
The administration has yet to say if it will take action against Russia over this incident.
