Traffic Stop Led To Discovery Of Over 100 Pounds Of Marijuana

If convicted the suspect could face a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison and a $25 thousand fine.

A traffic stop conducted in Florence County led to the discovery of over 100 pounds of drugs.

Florence County deputies attempted a traffic stop on Monday for a moving violation along I-95. The stop led to a search in which deputies discovered nearly $300 thousand worth of marijuana.

34-year-old, Hongzhou Yu, of Covina, California, was arrested and charged with trafficking marijuana.

If convicted Yu could face a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison and a $25 thousand fine.

He is currently being held at the Florence County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
