Walgreens Limits States Where Abortion Pill Will Be Sold

This motion comes after Republican attorneys general in 20 states sent Walgreens a letter that threatened the company could possibly face legal challenges if it sold the abortion medication in those states.

Walgreens announced it will not sell an abortion pill in several states where abortion is still legal.

The medication, Mifepristone will not be allowed to be sold in Walgreens that are located in Kentucky, Mississippi, South Dakota, Texas, West Virginia, Alaska, Florida, Iowa, and Montana, along with others, whether abortion is legal or not.

The company said that they are not dispensing the pill at this time until they become a certified pharmacy under the program, but it will only dispense in those jurisdictions where it is legal for them to do so.
