Another Norfolk Southern Train Derailed In Ohio
The company said that there were no hazardous materials aboard this train and no injuries were reported.
Over 1,500 residents were left without power after another Norfolk Southern train derailed in Ohio on Saturday.
Norfolk Southern confirmed that 20 cars of a 212 car train derailed near state route 41 in the Springfield, Ohio, area.
The company said that there were no hazardous materials aboard this train and no injuries were reported.
Residents within 1 thousand feet of the derailment were asked to avoid the area and shelter-in-place out of an “abundance of caution”.
This follows the February 3rd incident where a train carrying toxic chemicals derailed in East Palestine and resulted in contamination and an evacuation for people several miles from the scene.
Today Norfolk Southern announced a six point plan to improve safety, which will include reviewing industry standards.
