Teen Pleads Guilty To 2021 Myrtle Beach Hotel Shooting
Two other people are facing murder charges for the incident as well and their cases are set to be heard at a later date.
On Thursday, a teen pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter in a deadly shooting that occurred in Myrtle Beach nearly two years ago.
On March 25th of 2021, police responded to the Waterpark Hotel along South Ocean Boulevard for reports of a shooting.
An abundance of drugs were discovered in one room along with a victim who was suffering from a gunshot wound.
43-year-old Jermaine Stewart later died from the injuries sustained in the incident.
Riley Eckard is one of eight suspects who were taken into custody. He was 16 at the time the shooting occurred and prior to his guilty plea, his trial was set for later this month.
After pleading guilty, Eckard was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
