After nearly a decade, Kentucky Fried Chicken is bringing back its “Double Down”. KFC first debuted the sandwich on April Fool’s day in 2010 selling millions before removing it from menus in 2014.
The sandwich substitutes the buns for fried chicken cutlets and comes with bacon, cheese and sauce.
KFC said a version of the sandwich with brioche bread, pickles, and slightly less chicken will also be available for customers who are not sure about the no-bun concept.
The “Double Down” became a viral sensation and was one of the biggest boosters for the fast-food chain in the competition between KFC, Popeyes, and McDonalds.
Consumers who did not have a chance to taste the sandwich before can now see what the hype is all about starting March 6th.
