TikTok To Release Feature That Limits Minors Screen Time
TikTok has announced a new feature for users under the age of 18.
Accounts that belong to minors will soon see a default that limits their daily screen time limit use of the app to one-hour.
If the 60-minute limit is reached, users will be urged to enter a passcode that requires them to make a decision to extend their time spent scrolling through videos on the app.
The feature can be turned off, but it is set to be added to the app’s Family Pairing Feature where the parent can set their teen’s controls.
The new feature comes after TikTok along with other social media apps, have faced backlash over their impact on young users.
