DHEC To Possibly Shut Down Two Assisted Living Facilities

Documents show that several violations of both Inlet Oaks and Oaks of Loris were reported within their facilities.

The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control investigated two local assisted living facilities.

Results from DHEC’s investigation could possibly lead to both facilities being shut down.

Documents show that several violations of both Inlet Oaks and Oaks of Loris were reported within their facilities.

Inlet Oaks’ report showed that the facility was giving and organizing medication, but did not renew their license that gives them permission to do so.

Oaks of Loris reports stated the facility had dirty linens, a foul urine smell, cockroaches, and other insects including a gnat infestation, rooms also did not meet the required temperatures, and mold was discovered throughout the entire building.

The two facilities are under the same parent company called ‘Partners in Hope Inc’.

DHEC said the department has 60 days from the date the Request for Final Review was made to decide if they will consider the action, or shut down the facilities.
