Gas Leak Resulted In The Evacuation Of Several Buildings

The fumes were being released by damage to a utility pipe. No injuries have been reported.

On Thursday afternoon, several buildings were evacuated in the 4000 block of Highway 501 in the Carolina Forest area.

Horry County Fire Rescue responded to the area for reports of an apparent gas odor.

The fumes were being released by damage to a utility pipe.

Utility crews worked to repair the damaged pipe with Conway and Myrtle Beach Fire Departments assisting.

No injuries have been reported and no further information has been released at this time.
