Possible Permits Needed For Special Events On Public Beaches

The permit would need to be purchased in order to hosts events such as weddings or a professional photo shoot on North Myrtle Beach public beaches.

The North Myrtle Beach council passed the first reading of an ordinance that would charge permit fees for special events on public beaches in the city.

City leaders said they hope to make the permit process easy with the ability to purchase them on-line within hours, not days.

The permit would need to be purchased in order to hosts events such as weddings or a professional photo shoot on the beach.

If passed, permits would be required this year, but the fees would be waived until next year.

It is unclear at this time when the second reading will be held.
