After spending almost 10 months in Russian captivity, Brittney Griner is returning to the court.

Griner was released from Russian detainment in a prisoner exchange. She vowed that she would play in the WNBA again as soon as she returned home.

The two-time Olympic Gold Medalist shared via social media that she intends to play basketball this season and in doing so, she looks forward to being able to say ‘thank you’ to everybody who supported her, fought for her, and wrote her during her time of detainment.

The WNBA star signed a one-year deal with the Phoenix Mercury.
