Second Habitat For Humanity Location Coming To Horry County

The hopes for the expansion of a second Restore, is that Habitat for Humanity of Horry County will be capable of expanding its distributions to a larger part of the community.

A second Habitat for Humanity Restore location is set to be built in Horry County.

Construction on the 20 thousand square-foot facility is set to break ground at 2191 E. Highway 9 in Longs. It is scheduled to begin at 10a.m. on Thursday.

The construction is expected to take nearly 10 months to complete and the new location is set to open in January.

The area’s first Restore opened in 2000 and dispenses to the Myrtle Beach and Socastee areas.

Habitat for Humanity said it has kept 1,100 tons of materials out of local landfills and assisted in contributing the funds for the construction of three homes in the past year.
